Definitions & Methods

Latest periods are selected independently

County values use ACS 2024, FDOT 2025, CBP 2023, SUSB 2022, FLHSMV June 2026, and FLHSMV traffic crashes 2024 (final). Cross-source ratios display both periods rather than implying they match.

Business measures use two releases

Jobs, establishments, payroll, and average pay use CBP 2023; firms and receipts use SUSB 2022. Null fields in the package prevent accidental substitution across releases.

Registered road-vehicle definition

The aggregate includes autos and pickups, heavy trucks, motorcycles, and buses. It excludes trailers, mobile homes, tools, and vessels. EV and hybrid counts are subsets, not additions.

ACS estimates and change

The statewide series includes every ACS 5-year vintage from 2015 through 2024. Each pools five years of responses, and small differences may not be statistically significant because this page does not display margins of error.

Safety exposure

The county fatality rate divides final 2024 fatalities by ACS 2024 population. It is a resident-population context measure, not a matching-year or per-VMT exposure rate.

Facility geography

Airport and seaport measures describe activity at a named facility. Host county is location context only and is not a county-wide measure.

Reporting periods

FAA airport figures use calendar years, while seaport activity uses the Florida mission plan's fiscal-year reporting period. Do not combine the periods into a single trend point.

Preliminary airport data

CY 2025 airport enplanements are preliminary FAA figures and may be revised. Display the preliminary status anywhere these values appear.

No county attribution

Do not assign all airport or seaport passengers, cargo, or capital investment to the host county. Facilities serve multicounty, statewide, national, and international markets.

Zero and missing values

Zero denotes explicitly reported no activity. Null denotes a metric that the source did not report; missing values must not be converted to zero.

Values marked N/A are unavailable from the cited release. Facility activity is not reassigned to a host county, and no composite transportation score is calculated.
